EARNEST FOSTER

Earnest A. Foster Jr. 82, of Bel Aire, died March 20, 2016. He was retired from Mobil Oil.

He was born March 27, 1933, in Iola to Earnest A. Foster Sr. and Marie Brown Creason. He graduated from Iola High School in 1952 and married Leora I. Larkey on Sept. 19, 1953. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Pet Milk in Iola, Steffen's Dairy and the aircraft industry in Wichita, and for Mobil Oil in both Augusta and Beaumont, Texas, until he retired in 1993. They moved to Bel Aire after his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years; children Gary Foster, Diane (Chris) Ruggles and Jim (Kelly) Foster; grandchildren Brent (Carolyn) Ruggles and Jamie (Rob) Klem; stepgrandchildren Christian and Joshua; four great-grandchildren Sophie Klem, Grayson Ruggles, Zoe Ruggles and Baylor Klem; and a sister, Mary Morgan of Kansas City, Mo.

Private services have been held. Memorials are suggested to your local animal shelter.
