Chess team second in 5A By The News staff Last Updated: March 31, 2016 The Valley Center High School chess team placed second in the Class 5A state tournament March 12 at the University of Kansas. Individually, Colton Jones was 27th and Derrick Foster was 29th. The team was coached by Jared Vogel. Other team members included Derek Schrag, Alex Schul, Steven Binau, Kyler Lange, Kristen Schrag and Ross Hankins. |
