Police reports

Nov. 29 — Officer Ryan Mumma checked the welfare at Fifth and Meridian. The calling party said a girl around age 15 was walking south on Meridian at the Valley Center Intermediate School around 1 a.m. The calling party said she wanted someone to check on her at 7:15 a.m. The area was searched, but no one was found.

Nov. 29 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted EMS at 596 W. First. A juvenile wasn't feeling well and passed out on the floor. Her vitals were OK, and her mom said she would take her to urgent care.

Nov. 29 — Officers Jason Easley and Erik Nygaard assisted EMS at New Hope Services. A resident was having trouble breathing and was transported to the hospital.

Nov. 29 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with a suspicious person call at 1741 W. 125th North. The officer was told that the incident occurred earlier and was no longer needed.

Nov. 29 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted EMS at 680 N. Redbud. A juvenile was hurt while playing with another child. The injured juvenile was treated and not transported.

Nov. 29 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted EMS at 301 Fieldstone. A female was transported by EMS to a hospital.

Nov. 28 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to a battery at 222 N. Meridian. A woman struck a man with an axe handle in self-defense. The case is under investigation.

Nov. 28 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to a suspicious person at 6301 N. Dodge. The calling party said a loud truck was parked on the street. The vehicle left before the officer arrived.

Nov. 28 — Officer Erik Nygaard assisted Valley Center fire at 411 N. Elm. A power line behind the residence was sparking because of branches touching it. Fire contacted Westar to trim the trees.

Nov. 28 — Officer Erik Nygaard assisted Park City police at 61st North and I-135 with a rollover accident.

Nov. 28 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to a suspicious person at Main and Miles. The calling party said a man dressed in camouflage was in the area with a flashlight. When the officer arrived, no one was found. The description matched the new newspaper carrier an officer conducted a traffic stop on earlier in the day.

Nov. 27 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Shannon Meyer responded to Ford and Dexter for a suspicious person. The calling party said a black male in a gray hoodie looked over fences and then drove away. The officers did not find anyone in the area.

Nov. 27 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted Valley Center fire with a power pole on fire at 93rd North and Osage. The fire was small, and no one was harmed. Fire crews stayed on the scene until Westar arrived.

Nov. 27 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted Sedgwick County sheriff and Harvey County sheriff with a rollover accident at 125th North and Meridian. A woman driving west on 125th North lost control of her vehicle and rolled it into a ditch. She was transported by EMS to a hospital.

Nov. 27 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to 540 W. Clay for an alarm at the south warehouse. The officer spoke with the building's security guard, who verified with the key holder that the alarm was false.

Nov. 27 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to 1200 W. Ford for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A driver was cited for no proof of insurance and following too closely after rear-ending another vehicle.

Nov. 27 — Officer Shannon Meyer performed a welfare check at 77th North and Broadway. The new newspaper carrier was stuck at Hartman Arena. He was told how to get unstuck and went on his way.

Nov. 27 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted EMS at 608 N. Birch. A woman with flu-like symptoms was transported to a hospital.

Nov. 27 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted a motorist at 85th North and Broadway. The motorist had stopped to remove ice from his windshield wipers.

Nov. 27 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted EMS at 107 N. Meridian. A woman called 911 after taking illegal drugs. She was transported to a hospital for evaluation. This case is under investigation.

Nov. 26 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted Valley Center fire with a fall at 511 S. Stoneridge.

Nov. 26 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted EMS at 217 N. Park. EMS transported a female to a hospital.

Nov. 26 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to an alarm at 655 E. Third. An internal alarm was set off by the dog. The homeowners were notified, and the alarm was deemed false.

Nov. 26 — Officer Eric Leeker assisted EMS at 936 N. Parkway Drive. A patient was transported to a hospital.

Nov. 26 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 10000 W. 93rd North with a stopped vehicle that did not belong to the driver. The officer contacted the registered owner, who said he was in the process of trading the truck for a motorcycle. He gave officer the name and number of the man driving the truck.

Nov. 26 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to reckless driving at 85th North and Meridian. The calling party said a vehicle was westbound in the eastbound lanes. The officer did not find any vehicles in the area.

Nov. 25 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Michael Gordon responded to the 1000 Block of West Fifth for a non-injury accident. The vehicle at fault drove off before officers arrived.

Nov. 25 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Michael Gordon assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with an injury accident at 109th North and 10th West. The woman who drove off from a previous non-injury accident was involved in a single-car accident in the county. She admitted that her license was suspended but denied being involved in the accident in Valley Center.

Nov. 25 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Michael Gordon responded to 321 W. First for a hit-and-run accident. A vehicle in the library parking lot was side-swiped by an unknown vehicle. The driver left without telling anyone of the accident.

Nov. 25 — Officer Eric Leeker conducted a traffic stop at 222 S. Meridian. He arrested Aaron Lupo on warrants from Sedgwick County and Park City.

Nov. 25 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted Park City police in the 7300 block of North I-135 with a possible drunk driver. The driver was found to not be impaired.

Nov. 24 — Officer Michael Gordon assisted Valley Center fire at Third and Ash with a line down.

Nov. 24 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to Fifth and Birch for a parking complaint. The officer spoke with a person about not being able to park a camper on a city street per city ordinance. The owner agreed to move it off the street before 8 p.m. as he needed his son's truck to do it and his son did not get off work until 6 p.m.

Nov. 24 — Officer Jason Easley followed up on a case at 430 E. Sixth.

Nov. 24 — Officer Jason Easley assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 10301 N. 109th. A deputy took a child into protective custody when the child told school staff he was scared to go home.

Nov. 24 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 1713 W. 101st North with a welfare check. The individual was not found.

Nov. 24 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Park City police at 1825 E. Fairchild with a possible burglary in-progress at an abandoned house.

Nov. 24 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Bel Aire police at 101st North and Webb with a vehicle chase after Bel Aire police lost the vehicle. The vehicle was not found.

Nov. 24 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 8715 N. Jacobs. A man was taken to a hospital via EMS.

Nov. 24 — Officer J.C. Kirk checked for a suspicious person and watched a business while it opened for the day at 200 S. Meridian.

Nov. 23 — Officer Michael Gordon fingerprinted a person at the station for a teaching license.

Nov. 23 — Officer Michael Gordon took a report at the station. A citizen said a suspicious vehicle and person approached their mailman and sat in front of her house for an unusual length of time.

Nov. 23 — Officer Michael Gordon spoke with a woman at the station. She reported the theft of her debit card from Friends University in Wichita and unauthorized transactions were being made.

Nov. 23 — Officers Erik Nygaard and Jason Easley took a report at Valley Center Intermediate School. A special needs 10-year-old student was having serious behavior issues after school.

Nov. 23 — Officers Erik Nygaard and Jason Easley assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with shots fired at 7700 N. Ridge. The calling party said he heard nine to 18 gunshots outside at an unknown area. The officers checked the area and didn't locate anything.

Nov. 23 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 400 S. Eastridge for a disturbance.  A juvenile argument left one injured and parents upset. The case is under investigation

Nov. 23 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted the new paper carrier in finding a location on his route.
