VCMS football teams are swept by Maize

The Valley Center Middle School football teams were swept by Maize Sept. 24.

The eighth-graders lost 42-6, while the seventh-grade team fell 30-8. The "B" teams played fifth quarters.

The Hornet "A" squads will host Goddard Oct. 1.

Eighth grade

Valley Center fell behind 42-0 at half time.

The Hornets scored late in the game on a touchdown pass from Mason Burns to Josiah Farney.

The eighth-grade "B" team played a fifth quarter and won 14-0.

Seventh grade

Maize led 24-0 at the half.

Kaleb Harden kept the ball on an open to score the Hornets' lone touchdown. Harden passed to Zander Lee for the two-point conversion.

The seventh-grade "B" team played a fifth quarter that was scoreless.
