Police reports

Sept. 13 — Officers Michael Gordon and Ryan Mumma checked a vehicle at 77th North and West parked on the side of the road with the rear window broken out. They contacted the vehicle's owner, and she confirmed she knew about it. It happened while mowing the yard the day before.

Sept. 13 — Officers Michael Gordon and Ryan Mumma followed up with a subject at the station. The subject came in to report more stolen property from his house. He was missing a knife and a multitool. He was concerned officers might contact the suspect, and she would have the knife.

Sept. 13 — Officers Michael Gordon and Ryan Mumma assisted a motorist that ran out of gas at 400 S. Meridian. They escorted him to a gas station and provided traffic control.

Sept. 13 — Officers Michael Gordon and Ryan Mumma removed a Styrofoam cooler from the road at 500 N. Meridian.

Sept. 13 — Officers Jason Easley and Jeremy Manning stopped a vehicle for traffic violation at 9111 N. Osage. They arrested Thomas Cantrell on charges of driving while suspended and no proof of insurance.

Sept. 13 — Officers Jason Easley and Jeremy Manning responded to a suspicious person report at 1240 E. Ford. They looked for a person with a flashlight looking into cars. They spoke with a male outside and determined he lived at the complex.

Sept. 13 — Officers Erik Nygaard and J.C. Kirk responded to a possible overdose at 127 S. Colby, No. 39. A woman thought her brother might overdose. He was not at this location nor did she have his phone number or a location for him.

Sept. 13 — Officers Erik Nygaard and J.C. Kirk assisted EMS at 809 N. Redbud Ave. The patient refused transport.

Sept. 12 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Ryan Mumma assisted EMS at 540 N. Birch.

Sept. 12 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Ryan Mumma responded to an alarm at the Pizza Hut, 344 S. Meridian. Employees reported a malfunction. Officer told them to contact their security company and report the malfunction. The alarm was deemed false.

Sept. 12 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Ryan Mumma assisted EMS at 103 W. Northwind.

Sept. 12 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Ryan Mumma responded to the Valley Center Middle School parking lot, 800 N. Meridian, for a non-injury accident.

Sept. 12 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Ryan Mumma responded to aggravated burglary at 591 W. Second. The calling party said his ex-girlfriend broke into his house early that morning and wrote all over the walls, refrigerator and washing machine. While trying to get the suspect to leave, he was accidently injured and had to go to the hospital.

Sept. 12 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Ryan Mumma assisted Bourbon County sheriff by looking for a wanted person living at 309 N. Meridian. They arrested Devin T. Bresee on a Bourbon County warrant.

Sept. 12 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to an alarm at Wholesale Fireworks at 69th North and Meridian. The alarm was deemed false.

Sept. 12 — Officer Eric Leeker and Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to a 911 hang-up call at 524 N. Abilene. The resident recently changed phone companies and was having problems with the phone.

Sept. 11 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Ryan Mumma responded to a non-injury accident at Fifth and Emporia.

Sept. 11 — Officers Eric Leeker and Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to an unknown 911 call for police at 127 S. Colby. A lady called stating she was in danger. Upon arrival, the officers found a lady extremely high on methamphetamines, not making much sense. She was given a ride back to Wichita.

Sept. 11 — Officer Matt Trelow responded to a reported burglary in progress at the Lions Park restrooms, 200 E. Allen. He did not find anyone trying to burglarize the restrooms. The park was checked, and the restrooms were secured.

Sept. 11 — Officer Matt Trelow and Sgt. Thomas Delgado checked a vacant residence at 900 N. Redbud Court. The front door was open, but they found no one inside.

Sept. 11 — Officer Matt Trelow checked businesses from 318 S. Meridian to 328 S. Meridian. All doors were secure, and everything was OK.

Sept. 11 — Officer Matt Trelow assisted Park City police in trying to locate a disturbance at 61st North and I-135. Officers did not locate a disturbance.

Sept. 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to a disturbance at 110 E. Fifth. A man and a woman had gotten into a verbal argument after she believed he hit her and he denied it.

Sept. 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to an alarm at 1550 S. Meridian. He was disregarded by the alarm company before arrival.

Sept. 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted a woman at the station. She said someone used her bank account information, made false checks and used them. The possible suspect lives in Mulvane and the victim lives out in the county. The case was referred to the appropriate jurisdictions.

Sept. 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 420 N. Emporia to assist EMS but was disregarded upon arrival.

Sept. 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer checked McLaughlin Park and the nearby softball fields. A citizen reported two juveniles fighting, but no one was found.

Sept. 10 — Officer Matt Trelow conducted a foot patrol at the Brookfield Apartments, 1240 E. Ford. All appeared to be OK.

Sept. 10 — Officer Matt Trelow checked a vehicle at 145 N. Meridian. He saw a white van with an open trunk parked behind the residence. The officer closed the trunk. It appeared there was no damage that would indicate a break in.

Sept. 10 — Officer Matt Trelow checked all three banks in town. All doors were secure, and everything appeared to be OK.

Sept. 9 — Officers  Michael Gordon and Shannon Meyer processed evidence at the station from a traffic accident.

Sept. 9 — Officers Jason Easley and Erik Nygaard and Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to 123 S. Colby, No. 17. They took a report of a man losing his debit card and wallet at an unknown time and location.

Sept. 9 — Officers Jason Easley and Erik Nygaard and Sgt. Thomas Delgado transported a person from Sedgwick County jail to court and back to the jail.

Sept. 9 — Officer Erik Nygaard and Sgt. Thomas Delgado stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at 85th North and Hydraulic. They arrested Jason Thomas Harrell on a charge of DUI.

Sept. 9 — Officers Jason Easley and Erik Nygaard and Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to a disturbance with a weapon at 522 W. Second. A man said his friend threatened him and his girlfriend with a gun. Officers did not find any weapons with the suspect.

Sept. 9 — Officers Jason Easley and Erik Nygaard and Sgt. Thomas Delgado assisted EMS at 110 E. Fifth. A patient was transported by EMS to a hospital.

Sept. 9 — Officers Jason Easley and Erik Nygaard and Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to assist EMS at 109 E. Fourth. They were disregarded when EMS and fire arrived.

Sept. 8 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to a 911 hang-up call at 120 W. Main. He spoke with the lessee of a business about possible phone problems.

Sept. 8 — Officer Michael Gordon assisted Valley Center fire with possible smoke in the area of the 300 block of West Main. It was grain dust from the elevator.

Sept. 8 — Officer Michael Gordon assisted Sedgwick County Probation Office with a criminal case on a subject on probation.

Sept. 8 — Officer Jason Easley responded to a 911 hang-up call at 120 W. Main. The call was false due to the weather.

Sept. 8 — Officer Jason Easley checked the welfare of a motorist at 6900 N. Seneca with the vehicle's hazard lights flashing. The driver had help on the way.

Sept. 8 — Officer Jason Easley stopped a man walking in the area of 300 S. Meridian. He was walking home from Walmart.

Sept. 8 — Officers Erik Nygaard and J.C. Kirk assisted Maize police with a traffic stop and search at 53rd North and Ridge Road.

Sept. 8 — Officer Jason Easley was contacted by a family at the station. He received cookies and a card from the family thanking police for their service.

Sept. 7 — Officers Michael Gordon and Ryan Mumma checked for a wanted person at 401 S. Abilene. He was not there, but a message was left for him to contact police.

Sept. 7 — Officers Michael Gordon and Ryan Mumma received a found Kansas driver's license at the station.

Sept. 7 — Officer Jason Easley responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle driving slow and turning into driveways in the 500 block of North Emporia. Officer located the vehicle at 300 N. Emporia. The driver was a Valley Center bus driver looking for a new address for in the morning.

Sept. 7 — Officer Jason Easley responded to an alarm at Wholesale Fireworks, 6900 N. Meridian. The alarm was false.

Sept. 7 — Officer Jason Easley responded to assist Park City police with an accident reported at 53rd North and Hydraulic. No vehicle was found.

Sept. 7 — Officer Jason Easley assisted Sedgwick County sheriff in looking for a wanted person in the 12500 block of North I-135. He did not locate anyone.

Sept. 7 — Officer Jason Easley helped a Sedgwick County sheriff's deputy change a tire on a patrol car in at 8500 N. I-135.

Sept. 7 — Officer Jason Easley assisted fire at 8100 N. Ridge Road. It was determined the house fire was in Wichita and not in the county.

Sept. 7 — Officers Erik Nygaard and J.C. Kirk assisted Park City police with vandalism at 61st North and Broadway. A vehicle with the same tag and description as given by the calling party was stopped, and Park City police arrested two individuals.

Sept. 7 — Officers Erik Nygaard and J.C. Kirk responded to assault at 520 W. Main. They arrested Tara Begaye on charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence battery.

Sept. 7 — Officers Erik Nygaard and J.C. Kirk assisted Park City police and Sedgwick County sheriff with horses at large at 3059 E. Fifth. The horses were retrieved and put away.
