Edson "Lee" Gibson, 88, Valley Center, died Sept. 9, 2015. He was the retired owner of Lee's Barbershop.

He was born in Caldwell to Walter Edson Gibson and Grace Pearl (Posey) Gibson. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a veteran of World War II and participated in Kansas Honor Flight. He married Barbara S. Corzine on April 28, 1951. He worked for Cessna Aircraft and retired from Boeing Aircraft. He was a long-time member of Valley Center LifePoint Church.

Survivors include his wife; children John Gibson of Hillsboro, Karen (Sam) Camacho of Sedgwick and Linda (Stephen) Davis of Newton; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother Estel Gibson of Wichita; sister Beulah Hunszeker of Scottsbluff, Neb.; brother-in-law Roy E. Corzine and sister-in-law Thelma Corzine; Linda Magneson and Esperanza Montford, who adopted him as father; and many nephews, nieces, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Vida Gibson; sister Evelyn Kirkpatrick; brothers Kenneth, Wilbur, Floyd and Frank Gibson; and nephew Artie Gibson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 12 at LifePoint Church, 400 S. Abilene, Valley Center. Graveside will be at 3 p.m. at Caldwell Cemetery in Caldwell. Memorials to the Kansas Honor Flight, P.O. Box 2371, Hutchinson KS 67504 or Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita KS 67202. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center has charge.
