Second Edward Jones office opens in Valley Center

Edward Jones has a second office in Valley Center.

Financial adviser Austin Hubert and Shannon Wolley, senior branch office administrator, opened the business last week at 1220 S. Meridian Suite F.

"We're excited to be here," Hubert said.

Hubert said his office helps clients plan for retirement, live in retirement, save for college, plan for unexpected events and help turn wealth over to their heirs.

"Personally, I believe in buying high-quality investments and holding them for the long term," Hubert said. "… High-risk (opportunities) come and go. I believe in high-quality, dividend-paying stocks and bonds."

Hubert, 25, grew up in Garden Plain and graduated from Fort Hays State University, where he was a defensive back on the football team. Hubert started his career with Edward Jones in St. Louis before relocating to Wichita, where he had an office in the southeast part of the city for nearly two years.

"We believe in face-to-face interactions with our clients," Hubert said. "That's the kind of person I would want managing my money, someone I could sit down with when I need to."

Hubert's father is a Sedgwick County assistant district attorney and his mother is an elementary school teacher in Goddard. Hubert has two younger siblings.

Hubert and his fiancé, Nicole, a speech therapist, plan to get married July 16, 2016.

Outside of the office, Hubert said he is a sports fan, playing golf and following Kansas City Chiefs, University of Kansas basketball and the Kansas City Royals.

Hubert said he looks forward to being involved in the Valley Center community.

"It's important to us because we've got to give back to the community," Hubert said. "People want to know you're involved and they want to know you care. People like doing business with people they like and like to be around."

The Edward Jones office in downtown Valley Center, with adviser Brian Jansen, will remain open.

Hubert said the offices do not compete, but work in partnership with one another.

Hubert's office can be reached at 755-0110.
