The following area students received degrees during May commencement ceremonies at Baker University in Baldwin City: Jonathan Hochstetler and Brian Prahm, both of Valley Center, and Desiree Allen and Kendra Stuever of Wichita.

Hochstetler received a Master of Business Administration, Prahm and Allen each received a Bachelor of Business Administration, and Stuever received a Master of Arts in Education

Additionally, Joshua Ortiz of Valley Center and Jayden Smith of Wichita were named to Baker's College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education undergraduate dean's list for maintaining a 3.5 or higher grade point average during the spring 2015 semester.

The first university in Kansas, Baker has been listed among the top schools in the Midwest in the annual college rankings by U.S. News & World Report. It was selected as a top school in the Midwest by The Princeton Review.

Raleigh Clark and Margaret Seiler, both of Valley Center, earned graduation honors along with their degree conferred last month at Kansas State University. Clark graduated Magna Cum Laude with an academic grade point average between 3.85 and 3.949. Seiler graduated Summa Cum Laude with an academic grade point average between 3.75 and 3.848.

The Park City Senior Center will host a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. July 4. Dorleen Martens, Addy Anderson and Bob Land will celebrate their birthdays. The Wildwood Band will be playing.
