ERNEST CLARK Last Updated: May 21, 2015 Ernest Thomas Clark, 98, of Valley Center, died May 12, 2015. He was a retired minister and former pastor of First Baptist Church in Valley Center. He was born in rural Holly, Colo., to Thomas Edward Clark and Mabel Anna (Manning) Clark. He graduated from Hartman High School in Hartman, Colo. He also graduated from Friends University and Central Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and World War II. In 1944, he married Jean Avanell Whatley in Denison, Texas. They were married 43 years. In 1988, he married Nadine "Bertie" Jones in Larned. They were married 22 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, brother Weldon Clark and grandson Michael Adkisson. Survivors include his children Linda (James) Anderson of Park City, Dr. John (Ruth) Clark of Kansas City, Kan., and Timothy Clark of Dallas; stepchildren Jerry (Sharon) Adkisson of Independence, Mo., Ernest (Betty) Adkisson of Austin, Texas, and Patsy (Daryl) Peterson of Walden, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. Service was May 19 at Grace Connections Church, Valley Center. Graveside followed at Kechi Township Cemetery. Memorials to the Union Rescue Mission, 2800 N. Hillside, Wichita KS 67219 and Camp Christy, 320 Camp Christy Drive, Scott City KS. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center had charge. |
