ROBERT KENNEDY Last Updated: May 21, 2015 Robert "Bob" Kennedy Truman, 82, of Valley Center, died May 15, 2015. He was a retired supervisor with KG&E. He also had delivered for Moore's Flowers and Meals on Wheels. He was born in Newton to Henry Preston Kennedy and Ruby (Davis) Kennedy. He graduated from Halstead High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Korean War era. He married Betty Jo Carter on Jan. 18, 1957, in Valley Center. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Valley Center and a member of Asbury Methodist Church since 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe Kennedy, and sisters Helen Gresham and Gladys Ropp. Survivors include his wife; children Susie Kennedy of Sedgwick, Sandra (Mark) Miller of Valley Center and Mark (Donna) Kennedy of Valley Center; grandchildren Emily (Jordan) Gonzalez), Jacob Miller, Whitney Miller, Luke Kennedy and Paige Jacob; sister Phyllis Severs of McPherson; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Service was May 20 at Asbury Church. Memorials to Asbury Church, 2801 W. 15th North, Wichita KS 67203 and CMO (Christian Ministry to Offenders), 216 E. Second North, Wichita KS 67202. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center had charge. |
