Police called to sidewalk meeting
By Chris Strunk
Last Updated: April 30, 2015

Valley Center police had to step into a community meeting that got heated April 23.

Officer Eric Leeker responded to a report of a disturbance at City Hall, 121 S. Meridian, where there was a meeting to discuss the city's sidewalk project in the Valley Meadows neighborhood.

Some property owners don't want the sidewalk to be installed, while others have signed a petition for it.

Leeker said when he arrived at City Hall, things were "relatively calm," according to a police report, and the officer did not have to escort anyone out of the building.

Leeker stayed until the end of the meeting to prevent another disturbance.
