Police reports

April 12 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 901 N. Redbud to check a duplex under construction with open doors.

April 12 — Officers Michael Gordon and Erik Nygaard responded to 2001 Windsor Creek to check solicitors without a permit. Solicitors were informed about the laws and how to obtain a permit during business hours. They agreed to stop until they obtained a permit.

April 12 — Officers Michael Gordon and Erik Nygaard responded to Ford and Seneca where a sign was down. Public Works was contacted.

April 12 — Officers Michael Gordon and Erik Nygaard responded to 323 E. Sixth for the theft of a license plate from a vehicle parked in a driveway overnight.

April 12 — Sgt. Matt Vogt and Officers Jason Easley and Jeremy Manning responded to 100 E. Ford and talked with subjects on four-wheelers who were trespassing on railroad property. They were advised of the laws and given Operation Lifesaver information about railroad property trespassing.

April 12 — Sgt. Matt Vogt and Officers Jason Easley and Jeremy Manning responded to 547 W. Deerfield for a domestic disturbance. A female had told her intoxicated husband to leave. He was found playing darts at a neighbor's house. Officers determined that a crime had not occurred. The woman left the house with the children.

April 12 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 85th North and I-135 to check suspicious vehicles parked off the road under the bridge. The people were waiting out the storm.

April 12 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to an alarm at 120 W. Main, which was false.

April 11 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Jeremy Manning responded to 77th North and Seneca for an overly aggressive driver. They told the driver to calm down and be more understanding.

April 11 — Officers Shannon Meyer and Jeremy Manning responded to 2400 E. Ford for a motorist with an inoperable vehicle.

April 11 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to 400 block of North Meridian and talked with two young children at their lemonade stand.

April 11 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 9008 N. Ridge with approximately 30 goats on the roadway. The goats were returned to the fenced area, and the fence was temporarily put back up.

April 11 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to 1240 E. Ford for a report of a window peeker. An unknown male was looking through a little boy's window. Officer spoke with the boy's mother who said this was the fourth time this individual has been witnessed looking through the window. Whenever the person is discovered, he runs off towards Eastridge and then possibly to the west. The suspect was described as a white male, mid 40s, stocky build, large calves, with a round face and dressed all in black.

April 11 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with an accident at 7300 N. Ridge Road. The vehicle was located, unoccupied and undamaged. Officer stickered the vehicle and left the scene.

April 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to parking violations on Fifth and informed people they needed to move their vehicles.

April 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 7804 N. Seneca for a vicious dog. It was reported the dog was aggressive again, and the neighbor wants something done about it.

April 10 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted Valley Center fire and EMS with a death at 461 N. Meeds.

April 9 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 620 W. Scott for a suspicious character. The caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle parked outside the residence that then drove off. The vehicle was not found.

April 9 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker were dispatched to 248 E. Allen for a disturbance. Someone called 911 to report a man yelling at a woman. Officers arrived to speak to the individuals. It was actually a father disciplining his young boy because he was not doing his homework. There was no physical contact. Officers told the boy to do as he was told.

April 9 — Officer Eric Leeker was dispatched to take a larceny report at 2200 E. 98th North. Dispatch advised the officer the larceny had occurred at the high school. The call was referred to Sedgwick County sheriff.

April 9 — Officer Eric Leeker saw an intoxicated female walking on the sidewalk near 700 N. Meridian. He spoke to the female to make sure she was safe. She said she had gotten into a verbal argument with her husband and wanted to get out of the house for the night. Officer Matt Trelow showed up to assist and transported her somewhere to meet family to pick her up.

April 9 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officers Eric Leeker and Matt Trelow assisted KHP with an injury accident near 101st North and I-135.

April 9 — Officer Matt Trelow assisted EMS at 5 Breese Court.

April 8 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted EMS at 641 N. Seneca. 

April 8 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to the 300 block of Miles for a medical situation.

April 8 — Officers J. C. Kirk and Matt Trelow assisted EMS at 131 N. Park.

April 7 — Officer Jason Easley responded to 217 N. Park to a report of a snake inside the kitchen. The snake was gone when he arrived.

April 7 — Officer J. C. Kirk responded to 1431 W. 77th North to check the welfare and suspicious person report. He did not locate person who was seen in backyard. The renters were both OK.

April 6 — Officers Michael Gordon and Erik Nygaard served a subpoena at 801 S. Meridian.

April 6 — Officers Michael Gordon and Erik Nygaard assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with an alarm at 101 W. Wichita in Bentley. The alarm was false.

April 6 — Officers Michael Gordon and Erik Nygaard responded to Ford and Meridian where a citizen reported subjects were stealing scrap metal from a construction site. The subjects were located and the construction crew was contacted. It turned out the construction crew gave the people permission to take it.

April 6 — Officer Jason Easley assisted Valley Center Fire Department at 600 Redbud by providing traffic control in the area of a house fire.

April 6 — Officer Jason Easley responded to 8401 N. Broadway for an animal bite. A Waste Connections worker was bitten by a dog at this locatation. No EMS needed.

April 6 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 7951 Buena Vista to check welfare and investigate juvenile activity. A person of interest was not at this location.

April 6 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Wichita police at 1724 W. 35th North.

April 6 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Wichita police at 228 W. 43rd North.

April 9 — 10400 N. I-135, injury accident.

April 8 — 300 block South Miles, assist EMS.
