ROBERT STANEK Last Updated: April 13, 2015 Robert Brice "Bob" Stanek, 90, of Valley Center, died April 8, 2015. He was a retired pharmacist. He was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Humboldt, Neb., to Ernest Ralph Stanek and Naomi Rella (Ord) Stanek. He lived in Wymore, Neb., with his parents and brother until the family moved to San Diego in early 1941. He graduated from Kearney High School in San Diego in 1942 and joined the Army Air Force. He was a bomber and gunner with the 8th Air Force 384th Bomb Group, flying 35 missions in Europe during World War II. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1952. He was a registered pharmacist in California, Nevada, Arizona and Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David Stanek. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carolyn; sons Todd (Tracy) Rasmussen of Conway Springs, Tyler Rasmussen of Kansas City, and Trent (Tammy) Rasmussen of Houston; grandchildren Chris, Julie, Erik, Darrin, Josh, Austin, Samantha, Seth, Caitlyn, Mackenzie and Ross; great-grandchildren Alex, Lucas, Greysen and Griffin. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. with service at 10:30 a.m. April 15 at the First United Methodist Church, Valley Center.
