Police reports

April 5 — Officers Michael Gordon and Erik Nygaard responded to an abandoned vehicle at 2600 E. Fifth. Attempt was made to locate the owner of the vehicle, but no contact was made.

April 4 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to Ford and Meridian to check the welfare of a female wearing dark clothing walking down Ford with a child stroller. It was very dark and the calling party was afraid she would get hit by a passing car. Upon arrival, the female had gotten a ride.

April 4 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado, Officers Eric Leeker and Matt Trelow responded to 800 N. Meridian to control traffic because of a leaning utility pole that was damaged in the storm.  Westar came out to temporality fix the problem.

April 3 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 3700 W. Palos Verdes Circle to a general alarm. It was false.

April 3 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 69th North and Meridian with an injury accident. A westbound vehicle ran the stop sign and hit a southbound vehicle.

April 3 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 234 N. Miles. The owner thought someone was in her home.

April 3 — Officer Eric Leeker assisted Park City police at 77th North and I-135 with looking for a vehicle that left the scene of a hit-and-run accident. The driver of the vehicle later drove back to the scene of the accident.

April 3 — Officer Eric Leeker took a larceny report at 212 S. Meridian. A $200 bicycle was taken from the front yard.

April 3 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker responded to 821 W. Third Terrace for a suspicious person with flashlights walking around. Everything was fine.

April 3 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker responded to Fifth and Interurban for a train that was stopped on the tracks near the intersection. The officers spoke to the conductor, and the train was eventually moved after it had blocked traffic for over an hour.

April 3 — Officer Matt Trelow responded to 401 Valley Park Drive to assist Valley Center fire. He was disregarded upon arrival.

April 3 — Officer Matt Trelow responded to 5219 W. 77th North to assist EMS. He was disregarded upon arrival.

April 2 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 131 N. Abilene. She told the owner of an illegally parked trailer to move it from the road.

April 2 — Officer Shannon Meyer assisted EMS at 325 W. Second.

April 2 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 318 S. Dexter where a passerby reported someone hit another vehicle. Upon arrival, officer discovered that the driver of one of the vehicles owned both vehicles.

April 2 — Officer Eric Leeker took a miscellaneous report at the station. A woman reported that she was afraid her mother, who lives in Michigan, may someday try to kidnap her daughter.

April 2 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to a general alarm at 4301 W. 77th North. A realtor showing the house accidently set off the alarm.

April 2 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker responded to 1000 N. Meridian for downed power lines that were arcing. The storm also blew the road closure signs over at Main and Meridian. They were put back up.

April 2 — Officer Matt Trelow assisted Valley Center Fire Department with an electric fire in the tree line due to the storm at 10000 N. Meridian.

April 2 — Officer Matt Trelow responded to 118 N. Park to check the welfare. Contact was made, and there were no issues to report.

April 1 — Officers Michael Gordon and Shannon Meyer responded to the station for a citizen who came in to report fraud.

April 1 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado reported watching activities in the 600 block of East Butler.

April 1 – Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to 520 W. Albert for a report of unknown people egging two vehicles. He asked the victim if he knew a citizen. Delgado stated he did know the citizen. Delgado called the citizen to discover their vehicles had just been egged and they had actually seen the individuals involved. These individuals were responsible for egging a total of five cars at three different homes, and police were able to identify all of the participants.  The individuals washed the egg off the vehicles and volunteered to make it right with the victims. None of the victims wished to prosecute.

March 31 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to domestic violence at 1240 E. Ford, No. 111. A protection-from-abuse order was served.

March 31 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to 222 S. Meridian for a non-injury, private property accident.  

March 31 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to 801 S. Meridian where a known individual had written two worthless checks to the business. The case is under investigation.

March 31 — Officer Michael Gordon assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 144 S. Dexter with checking for a person with warrant.

March 30 — Officer Jason Easley assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with a traffic stop at 6800 N. Meridian. 

March 30 — Officer Jason Easley assisted Sedgwick County sheriff with a traffic stop at 2100 E. Ford.

March 30 — Officer Jason Easley responded to 200 S. Colby for criminal damage to property. The rear window of a motor home was broken out.

March 30 — Officer Jason Easley responded to 5150 N. Ridge Road for a burglary in progress. He detained a male on this property at gun point. The subject was later deemed to have permission to be on the property once the homeowner arrived.

March 30 — Officer Jason Easley assisted Sedgwick County sheriff  with an accident at 6900 N. Meridian.

March 30 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to an alarm at 500 W. Clay. It was false; the cleaning crew had set it off.

March 30 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to an alarm at 430 W. Clay. It was false; the cleaning crew had set it off.

April 3 — 9800 N. 24th West, unknown fire.
