Police reports

March 22 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to 1801 E. Fifth to burglary of auto. Unknown suspect broke out the window of the vehicle and stole a purse and its contents from inside while the owner was inside the church. Loss was over $1,000.

March 22 — Officers Jeremy Manning and Jason Easley assisted Wichita police with a burglary in-progress at 6024 N. Seneca. The call was false.

March 22 — Officers Jeremy Manning and Jason Easley responded to a reckless driver at Ford and Gatewood. They checked for a white Chevy truck speeding in the area but did not locate the suspect vehicle.

March 21 — Officer Eric Leeker assisted Park City police at 7300 N. Wild West Drive where three people in a car were found at the back of the abandoned Wild West World.

March 21 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker checked for suspicious people at Fifth and Seneca. A passerby called 911 to report that kids were shining lasers at drivers. Officers were unable to find the kids.

March 21 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker responded to 508 N. Meeds to check an abandoned house with an open back door. The house was searched, and no criminal activity was seen.

March 20 — Officer Michael Gordon assisted EMS at 430 W. Clay.

March 20 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to a welfare check at 338 N. Ash. She was not located, and the reporting party was contacted.

March 20 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to 800 E. Ford for an alarm. It was set off by employees.

March 20 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to 426 S. Meridian for a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival there were no vehicles in the parking lot, the building was secure and there were no lights on.

March 20 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker responded to a general alarm at 500 W. Clay. Dispatch informed that the alarm company requested police to cancel the call. Officers went ahead and checked the building to make sure it was fine. All of the doors were secured and nothing appeared out of place. A key holder showed up and confirmed everything was fine.

March 20 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado and Officer Eric Leeker responded to a general alarm at Second and Abilene. Someone reported hearing an alarm but didn't know the exact location. The alarm was believed to be coming from Retro Systems after officers set the alarm off while checking the building. Officers checked the area to make sure there was not a second alarm. The area was quiet and nothing seemed unusual.

March 20 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to a general alarm at 500 W. Clay. The building was checked, and everything was secure. The alarm was deemed false.

March 19 — Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to a child in custody at the station.

March 19 — Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to 4215 W. Rio Grand Drive to criminal use of a financial card. Someone had used a bank card to make online purchases.

March 19 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 135th West and K-96 by checking a residence for a suicidal female. They were unable to locate anyone and cleared the call.

March 19 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado stopped vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 200 block of East Fifth. He smelled marijuana in the vehicle. The driver and a passenger were found with marijuana, hash and paraphernalia in the center console. One man claimed ownership and was issued a uniform criminal complaint and released.

March 19 — Sgt. Thomas Delgado responded to an aggravated burglary at 107 N. Meridian. Three masked men reportedly entered the back door of the residence. Two individuals confronted the males who fled the scene on foot with a box of unknown property and a purse. The individuals ran to the west and it is unknown from there. The area was searched, but officers were unable to locate the suspects. The purse contained $80 in cash.

March 18 — Officer Michael Gordon red-tagged an illegally parked trailer at Miles and First Street Court.

March 18 — Officer Michael Gordon assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 29 Arapahoe.

March 18 — Officer Michael Gordon checked suspicious activity at 619 E. Butler.

March 18 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to a disturbance at 923 N. Meadow. Officer arrested Shelley Kirkpatrick on a charge of battery.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to 646 N. Burns. A citizen reported that someone placed rocks and other items on his car. There was no damage, but he did not appreciate it. He also reported that his car was egged the night before but there was no damage. He wanted police to be aware of the incidents.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to an alarm at 344 S. Meridian. It was set off by an employee.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon assisted Sumner County attempting to serve legal process on a person at 600 W. Third. The person was not located.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon checked for a wanted person at 5511 N. Gow. He was not there.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon checked for a wanted person at 1421 W. 63rd street. The subject was not there, but he made contact by phone and agreed to turn himself in at the station.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon checked for a wanted person at 6337 N. Interurban. He was not there, but he called the station later and agreed to come in.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon arrested Christopher Schwind at 615 E. Fifth on a warrant. He bonded out from the station.

March 17 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to the station and arrested Scott Van Patrick Turpin on a warrant.

March 17 — Officer Jason Easley assisted Wichita police with a lost child at 5100 N. Armstrong. The child was later found walking around at 4700 N. Arkansas after leaving a foster care home.

March 16 — Officer Michael Gordon responded to a suspicious person at 444 N. Meridian. Juveniles were home alone and thought that they saw someone in the house wearing all black and a mask. Officers didn't find anyone in the residence.

March 16 — Officer Jason Easley responded to a disturbance at 511 N. Park. A repo man arrived at this address looking for a boat that was not on the property, and the owner of the boat does not live at this location. Officer asked the repo man to leave and he did.

March 16 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to a screaming girl at 300 N. Ash. It turned out to be a church function, and everything was fine.
