Highlights Last Updated: March 26, 2015 The Valley Center Recreation Commission and Buffalo Wild Wings will host a fundraiser March 30 at Buffalo Wild Wings, 2413 N. Maize Road, Suite 105, in New Market Square. Tickets need to be presented to be eligible for the fundraiser. Ten percent of total sales from these tickets will be given to the Rec Commission. The money raised will be split between the T-ball, baseball and softball programs, and the swimming pool. Tickets can be printed online from the Rec Commission's Facebook page. They are also available at the Commission office, 117 N. Park. ††† Motivational speaker Kim Sawyer will present "Leaving a Legacy that Matters" at 6 p.m. March 29 at the Oxford First Baptist Church in Oxford. Sawyer speaks throughout the country to primarily groups of women. She is married to Marv Sawyer, a former Valley Center resident. ††† K-State Research and Extension will present the Women's Investment Education Program (WIEP). Six workshops, each from 6 to 8 p.m., will be held April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and May 7 at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center. 21st North and Ridge Road. These workshops are designed for widows, divorcees, married women and any woman who simply wants to know more about investing but are too intimidated to ask anyone. The cost is $20 total.
