Youth baseball camp set for March 14-15

The third annual Valley Center Hornet youth baseball camp for boys in first through eighth grades will be held March 14 and 15. Walk-up registrations are welcome, and the $30 registration fee includes a camp T-shirt.

Each day will be divided into three sessions. Session 1 is for first through third graders and will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. March 14 and 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 15. Session 2 is for fourth- through sixth-graders from 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 14 and noon to 1:30 p.m. March 15. Session 3 is for seventh- and eight-graders from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 14 and 2 to 3:30 p.m. March 15.

The camp will focus on baseball fundamentals such as throwing, fielding and hitting. It is an opportunity for VCHS baseball coaches to work with the youth in the community. They will strive to accomplish this in a fun, positive environment that will help create an enthusiasm and love for the game of baseball among campers.
