Valley Center Chiropractic Clinic has changed hands.

Dr. Jonathan Foerschler purchased the business from Dr. Craig Baldwin and began seeing patients in February.

"I have some big shoes to fill," Foerschler said. "I hope I'm up to the task."

Baldwin said he was confident that Foerschler would serve the clinic's patients well.

"I absolutely will miss the patients," Baldwin said. "I care about them."

Foerschler grew up in Minneapolis, Kan., and graduated from Kansas State University in 2006. He earned a degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park in 2010. He worked at a multi-doctor practice in Wichita for five years. That's where he met Baldwin.

"I enjoyed it, but a big part of me wanted to get to a small town," Foerschler said.

Foerschler said he asked Baldwin if he needed a partner in his operation in Valley Center. Baldwin was looking to sell the business.

"It didn't take me long to make a decision," Foerschler said.

The office will remain at 209 W. Main, Suite B, and the phone number will remain 755-9898.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and by appointment on Fridays. Foerschler sees patients in his hometown of Minneapolis on Wednesdays.

"I want to provide consistency," Foerschler said of the transition.

Foerschler said he and Baldwin share the same philosophy about chiropractic treatment.

"It's my view that your body is a self-healing, self-regulating organism," Foerschler said.

Foerschler and his wife, Emily, who is a speech therapist for the Wichita school district, have two children — Wesley, 3, and Will, 1.

Foerschler and his wife met in college, where they performed with the K-State Singers.

As for Baldwin, he said he is retiring from the profession and plans to work in real estate construction and remodeling, something he has dabbled in but never had time to pursue.

"Now is the right time for me," Baldwin said, "mostly because I had (Foerschler) come along."
