PALMER DIETZ

Palmer Hugo Dietz, 92, of Park City, died Feb. 22, 2015. He had retired in 1988 from the USD 259 service center.

He was born in WaKeeney to Otto L. Dietz and Anna E. (Fabrizius) Dietz. After graduating from WaKeeney High School, he entered the 8th Army Air Corps and was a World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Michelle Dir, sister Nadine Dietz, brothers Ferd Dietz and Don Dietz and parents. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eileen; daughters Paula and Sharon (Bob) Dir, all of Wichita, and Donna (Urban) Schmitz of Silver Lake; grandchildren Andrea Waggoner, Jason Woolington, Aaron Woolington, Brian, Kerri Rawson, Matt Schmitz and Nate Schmitz; great-grandchildren Mitch, Grant, Reed, Emilie, Ian, Avery, Drake and Cade.

Service is at 11 a.m. Feb. 26 at Christ Lutheran Church, 5356 N. Hillside, Wichita, with viewing before the service. Graveside service at the Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside. Memorials to Christ Lutheran Church, 5356 N. Hillside, Wichita. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center has charge.
