Aurelia Mary Eveline (McGee) Denny, 80, died Feb. 18, 2015. She was a retired IRS auditor, artist and teacher.

She was born in Hollis, Okla., to Framon Jourdaunt "F.J." and Nova Joyce (Cecil) McGee and graduated from Wellington High School. She also graduated from Amarillo College and received a bachelor of arts degree in education from West Texas State University. She married Marvin C. Denny Nov. 3, 1952, in Childress, Texas. She was an accomplished artist and past member of the Kansas Art Guild and the Wichita Oil Painting Society. She was a substitute teacher for many school districts, including Valley Center USD  262.

She was preceded by her husband, parents, brother Harvey "Hap" McGee and sister Cloy Jackson. Survivors include her sons David Denny of Potwin, Dan Denny of Savannah, Ga., and Roger Denny of Belle Plaine; daughter Nikki (Steve) Hipps of Valley Center; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers John (Marsha) McGee of Gainesville, Texas, and Theodore "Ted" (Johnnie) McGee of Happy, Texas; sisters Carolyn Gifford of Austin, Texas, and Franova "Fran" Burton of Tulia, Texas; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 26 with service at 2 p.m. Feb. 27, both at the Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. Fifth, Valley Center. Graveside service will follow at Valley Center Memorial Cemetery, 9700 N. Meridian, Valley Center. Memorials to Victory in the Valley, 3755 E. Douglas, Wichita KS 67218. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center has charge.
