21 cheer, dance teams compete at Rally

Twenty-one cheer and dance teams from across Kansas participated in the third annual Rally in the Valley Feb. 9 at Valley Center High School.

Participating schools included Andale High School cheer, Andover Central High School cheer, Andover Middle School cheer, Augusta High School cheer and dance, Augusta Middle School cheer, Bishop Carroll High School cheer, Campus High School cheer, El Dorado High School cheer, Halstead High School cheer, Highland Park High School dance, Hutchinson High School cheer, Maize High School cheer, McPherson High School cheer, Mulvane Middle School cheer, Newton High School dance, Piper High School dance, Valley Center High School cheer and dance, Valley Center Middle School cheer, and Winfield High School dance.

Earning superior ratings on the cheer/dance routine in the cheer division were Augusta Middle, Andover Middle, Andover Central High, Bishop Carroll High, Campus High, El Dorado High, Hutchinson High and Valley Center High. Earning excellent ratings in the same routine were Valley Center Middle, Mulvane Middle, Mulvane eighth grade, Andale High, Halstead High, McPherson High and Augusta High.

Earning superior ratings on jumps in the cheer division were Valley Center Middle, Mulvane Middle, Mulvane eighth grade, Andover Central High, Maize High, Campus High, Halstead High, Hutchinson High, Valley Center High and Augusta High. Earning excellent ratings in jumps were Augusta Middle, Andover Middle, Andale High, Bishop Carroll High and El Dorado High.

Earning superior ratings on spirit in the cheer division were Valley Center Middle, Mulvane Middle, Augusta Middle, Andover Middle, Mulvane eighth grade, Andale High, Andover Central High, Hutchinson High and Valley Center High. Earning excellent ratings in spirit were Maize High, Bishop Carroll High, El Dorado High, Halstead High, McPherson High and Augusta High.

On students and pyramids in the cheer division, schools earning superior were Bishop Carroll High, El Dorado High, Halstead High and McPherson High. Earning excellent ratings were Valley Center Middle, Mulvane Middle, Augusta Middle, Andale High, Andover Central High, Campus High, Valley Center High and Augusta High.

Earning superior ratings on overall impression in the cheer division were Valley Center Middle, Campus High, El Dorado High, Hutchinson High and Valley Center High. Earning excellent ratings were Mulvane Middle, Augusta Middle, Andover Middle, Mulvane Middle, Andale High, Andover Central High, Maize High, Bishop Carroll High, Halstead High, McPherson High and Augusta High.

In the dance division, schools that earned superior ratings on routine were Newton High, Piper High and Winfield High. Earning excellent ratings were Augusta High, Highland Park High and Valley Center High.

On formations and transitions in the dance division, superior ratings went to Newton High, Piper High and Winfield High, while excellent ratings were given to Augusta High, Highland Park High and Valley Center High.

Schools earning superior ratings on spirit in the dance division were Newton High, Piper High, Winfield High and Highland Park High. Valley Center High and Augusta High earned excellent ratings.

On overall impression in the dance division, Newton High and Piper High earned superior ratings, while Augusta High, Winfield High, Highland Park High and Valley Center High earned excellent ratings.
