Father-daughter dance expands in second year By The News staff Last Updated: February 12, 2015 More than 330 dads and their daughters ate and danced during the second annual father-daughter dance Feb. 7 at Valley Center High School. The event was a fundraiser for the Valley Center Animal League. "It went really well," said Dawn Taylor, president of the Animal League. "We're going to meet next week to start talking about next year and ways we can improve it." Attendance grew from 180 last year. "Of course, we'll do it again next year," Taylor said. She said the Animal League is looking for more sponsorships and corporate sponsors next year so the ticket prices can remain low. Cost was $25 per couple. The Animal League, which takes care of lost or abandoned animals in Valley Center, will continue to have its other regular fundraisers, such as the dog washes and the Pooch Plunge, later this year, and the group is always looking for families to foster dogs and cats as well as volunteers to help with events. |
