Homicide victim identified
Last Updated: February 19, 2015

Here's the latest on the rural Park City homicide investigation.

A news release from the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office:

Detectives have identified the victim of Sunday's homicide in the 3900 block of East 69th North, as Dale A. Childress, a black male, 56 years old, of Tulsa, OK. The autopsy was conducted yesterday and the preliminary cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound. Detectives have finished their search of the roadway on 69th North. Evidence indicates the victim was shot at the location where he was discovered.

We are still seeking assistance in locating anyone who may have traveled in the area on Feb 15, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. We have spoken with many citizens who live and travel though the area and appreciate their assistance.

We are updating the description of the vehicle we are trying to locate to a 2001 to 2005 Buick LeSabre, 4 door, dark in color, possibly dark green.

This is the first homicide reported in 2015 in the unincorporated area of Sedgwick County.  This case is complex and we have been conducting numerous investigative activities. Detectives are still following leads and urge anyone with information to contact Sheriff Investigations at 316-660-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
