CARL YOUNTS Last Updated: January 29, 2015 Carl E. Younts Jr., 71, died Jan. 15, 2015. He was a retired brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Pittsburg. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was active in the Masonic Lodge, serving as Past Master for lodges in Valley Center, Newton and Halstead. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite and Midian Shrine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl E. Sr. and Ethel (Ruddick) Younts. Survivors include his companion of 30 years, Billie Sue Copeland; sons, Carl W. (Tina Longholz) Younts and Shawn (Abby) Younts; grandchildren, Kale, Devin (Colten) Flickinger, Gracelynn and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Hackston and Easton Flickinger; siblings, Nancy Patterson, Carla (Gary) Kaplan and Eddie Younts; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service was held Jan. 23 at the Kansas Masonic Home Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Kansas Masonic Home, 401 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67213. Baker Funeral Home of Wichita had charge. |
