JACK GREENWOOD

Jack Eldred Greenwood, 88, died Jan. 9, 2015, at his home in Aurora, Colo. He was a retired banker and former president of the Barber County Savings and Loan.

He was born Feb. 5, 1926, in Steele City, Neb., to Chester and Martha (Rasmussen) Greenwood, both preceded him in death. He was known as a record-breaking track and field athlete at the University of Kansas and as a world renowned Masters (over 40) athlete.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nancy (MacGregor) Greenwood; sons, Jack Martin Greenwood of Aurora, and Riley MacGregor Greenwood and wife Diane of Valley Center; and grandson Riley Jack.

Funeral service was at the United Methodist Church with burial at Highland Cemetery, both in Medicine Lodge. Memorials to the MoKan Boxer Rescue, c/o Liz Phillips, 2106 Melholland, Lawrence KS 66047, the American Heart Association or the University of Kansas track and field.
