Last Updated: January 22, 2015

With less than a week to go, a few candidates have filed for election to local school board and city seats. The deadline to register is noon Jan. 27.

As of Jan. 19, in Valley Center, Laurie Dove was the lone candidate for mayor, and Rick Shellenbarger has filed as a candidate for Ward 2 of the city council. Four council seats are up for election.

In Park City, Jim Schroeder has filed for a Ward 1 council seat, Chris Johns for re-election to Ward 2 and George Capps for Ward 3. Four council seats are up for election.

In Bel Aire, two people have filed for the mayor's seat. David Austin will be seeking re-election, while Andrew Uhlschmidt has filed as a candidate. Three people have filed to seek two at-large city council seats. They are incumbent Ken Lee and newcomers Jeanette Clement and Michael Gordon.

No one has filed as a candidate in Kechi, where three at-large seats are up for election.

Rhonda Price has filed for re-election to the Valley Center school board. Four at-large seats are up for election.

A primary election, if necessary, will be March 3. The general election will be April 7.
