ELWIN SORRELL Last Updated: January 15, 2015 Elwin Bruce Sorrell, 80, died Jan. 8, 2015. He was born Sept. 24, 1934, on a farm in Jewell County, the second of five children to Corwin Griffis Sorrell and Clara Lois Nesmith Sorrell. He graduated from Glen Elder Rural High School and Kansas Wesleyan University. He taught school and coached in several small communities before going to work as an accountant with the Law Construction Company in Wichita. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Judith; son Bruce (Marybeth); daughter Jana Arneson (Bill) of Valley Center; grandchildren Emma, Robert and Lucy Sorrell, and Luke, Bethany and Hannah Arneson; sisters Bernice, Annetta, Bonnie and Betty and their families. A service of celebration was held Jan. 12 at Pathway Church, Maize. Memorials suggested to Pathway Church or Kansas City Chamber Orchestra. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center had charge. |
