EVERETT MULKEY

Everett E. Mulkey, 89, of Derby, died Jan. 7, 2015. He was a retired Boeing engineering manager.

He was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Agra to Lester C. and Elfie May (Goodwin) Mulkey. He lived in Phillipsburg until 1943 when he joined the Navy Aviation Cadet Program. After being discharged from the Navy, he graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He married Georgina Johnson in 1950. They moved to Wichita where he worked for the Boeing Company for 36 years before retiring. He was also employed part time for 46 years with Central Ticket Agency.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters Lorine Goodwin and Leola Bartlett, and son Glen Mulkey. Survivors include daughters Pam (Mike) Porter of Valley Center and Susan (Paul) Boucher, son Eric (Nyla) Mulkey, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service was Jan. 13 at Metropolitan Baptist Church. A memorial has been established with the church. Smith Mortuary of Wichita had charge.
